A function is a factor that goes into a system and comes out differently based on a pattern. Functions are used in the real world through technology. Encrypting is done through computers for security reasons, it could also be used for military reasons. It is important to know how a function works because you may need to know how to decode something, and it is only going to become more complex.

Today in Algebra ll I learned a little Algebra trick. Move through these steps, and I bet I can guess your number!
1. Pick a number
2. Double it
3. Subtract 2
3. Divide it by 2
4. Add 2
5. Subtract your original number
I bet your number is 1!
